Antonia Mochan currently serves as Deputy Head of Unit at the EU Policy Lab within the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, where she is advancing forward-looking policy design and fostering collaborative innovation across European institutions.

Prior to this appointment, she contributed aswas a Policy Analyst in Technology Foresight in the same Unit, driving strategic analyses ofn emerging technologies and their implications for European policy frameworks. One of her core interests is within Neuroscience and technological developments within that field.

Earlier, as Team Leader for Events at the Directorate-General for International Partnerships, she coordinated high-profile engagements that facilitated dialogue between the EU and global partners.

Her academic trajectory reflects the commitment to interdisciplinary learning and public engagement, drawing on political science, sociology, organisational behaviour and network theory.

With expertise spanning European politics, international relations, and strategic communications as well as scientific based foresight and it’s impacts on public policy, she combines analytical acumen, empathy and process knowledge for stakeholder engagement and participatory methods.
As Deputy Head of the EU Policy Lab—a hub for co-creation, strategic foresight, behavioural insights and policy prototyping— she contributes to creating a culture within the European Commission where shaping policies that address complex societal challenges are shaped through innovative methodologies, collective intelligence and cross-sector collaboration.
