We Proudly Present: The MADres Advisory Board

To help steer MADres with insights and strategic input, we’re proud to introduce the MADres Advisory Board—our key source for strategic advice throughout the project’s four-year journey.

  • Deborah Dawton, Former BEDA President, Chief Executive of the Design Business Association (DBA), United Kingdom
  • Päivi Tahkokallio, Former BEDA President; CEOP of Thakokallio Design+, Finnland
  • Antonia Mochan, Deputy Head of Unit at the EU Policy Lab within the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, Belgium
  • Marizia Mortati, PhD, Marzia Mortati, Associate Professor of Design at the Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano, Italy
  • Isabel Roig, Former BEDA President, Executive Director of the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation, President of the World Design Weeks, Spain

This independent body will support the MADres team in shaping direction, ensuring quality, and evaluating effectiveness across our core focus areas:

Planetary Design & Accessibility, Digital Ethics, and Design Policy.

The Advisory Board brings together former BEDA presidents to ensure connectivity with the European Design Scene, European Commission representatives to foster relations between the design industry and the European Union, and academic experts to provide a scientifically sound and research-led perspective.
