Paula García Silván
Paula García Silván, M.A, began channelling her creativity into the product design discipline in 2003. Some years later she expanded her professional path to include the design education, a field developed for over 15 years, beginning in Singapore and continuing in Spain, but in the latter with an emphasis in ethics and sustainability.
Her passion lies in design conceived in its broadest sense, it is not merely about function and aesthetics, it encompasses behavioural change, transformation, identity, nature. For her, design means context.
Paula’s collaboration with BEDA focuses on implementing the MADres project as a researcher.
Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Industrial Project Design, Manufacturing, and Management Program at the Technical University of Valencia, UPV. The research allows her to explore and analyse the multiple faces of design within cultural and social contexts. Her interests engage with topics such as the New European Bauhaus, initially studied as an innovation system in a UPV Innovation Master’s thesis, or the intersection of ethics and design.
Her practice in both design and education is grounded in an academic foundation by a degree in Industrial Design from CEU University of Valencia, a M.A. of Arts in Design from London Metropolitan University, and a M.A. in Education from University of Valencia.
