Simon Hermann, B.A. studied Communication Design at Hochschule Macromedia in Berlin, where he explored the future of creative processes. His bachelor thesis, “Generative AI as visualisation technique in the creative process – an investigation based on the core elements of corporate design”, laid the foundation for his lasting interest in the interplay between design and artificial intelligence. During his studies, he met Regina Hanke – a collaboration that ultimately led him to BEDA and MADres.

Today, Simon is part of the design team at BEDA and MADres. He created the corporate design for MADres as well as the concept of its website, shaping the visual foundation on which the initiative communicates its mission.

His work is driven by a fascination for design as a tool to structure, process, and translate information into accessible visual systems. Whether in corporate design or classical information design, his focus lies in making complexity clear and usable for diverse audiences. At the same time, Simon is committed to a set of principles: for him, design must be barrier-free, sustainable, functional, and ethically responsible. This perspective also shapes his ongoing exploration of AI in design – not just as a technology, but as a means to foster accessibility and support responsible innovation.
